Geothermal

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), geothermal heat pumps are the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective systems for temperature control.

Gabriel is pleased to offer geothermal energy services. We partner with local firms to complete the planning and installation of geothermal systems for homes, offices, grocery stores, apartment buildings, and small industrial facilities.

A ground source heat pump (geothermal) system can be used to extract the heating and cooling energy from the ground surrounding homes, offices, commercial and industrial buildings.

This type of system typically consists of pipes buried in the ground near the building, a heat exchanger, and ductwork into the building.

Gabriel will perform the soil borings to install the underground piping and equipment. Our partners will then complete the installation of the rest of the geothermal system.

Save Money

Payback for the initial installation of geothermal systems can be as little as 3.5 – 4 years.

These systems use 25-70%+ less energy than conventional heating and cooling ones. Plus, there is little to no maintenance required for the piping or other equipment.

Federal tax credits of 30% of installation costs for homeowners and 10% for businesses are now available, which will offset the initial costs for using a geothermal system. Congress recently removed the residential maximum tax credit limit of $2,000, which will make geothermal systems more affordable for homeowners.

Other tax credits and incentives may also exist, depending on your location (state credits, TIF funding, and other public-private partnership grants).

To find out what credits may be available in your area, visit the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (www.dsireusa.org).
